Brushing out Microfiber Towel

I gave up on MF at one point. A new MF towel is detailers best friend. But once that towel gets used often keeping it clean is not such a picnic. Those prickly ends are great at lifting dirt and debris but its equally stubborn in letting ALL OF IT go. I gave up and went the waffle weave towel (very impressed with the ones Poorboys sel, threads don't catch like otehr ww's I triedl).

But then Poorboys sent me a *Free* Mega Towel with the fancy silk binding and it made me give MF a second shot. The towel was really nice so I bout a dozen.

Now I'm wasing with pinacle rejuventaor MF wash and it does a good job at getting out the stains. BUT, the MF is still stubborn like in the old days. I'll wash the darn things two and three times with 2 rinses and I'm still sitting there pulling bits and other sticky bits from the furry side. I have to do this with every single towel. Easily 30 minutes can go by after washing a couple dozen. On well maintained surface I wonder if the prickly MF is just plain overkill.

I thought about trying a shoe brush or pet hair brush but they seem to be too rough.

Any suggestions before I give up and go back to the waffle weave?

Don't wash your MF towels with anything but other mf towels. Most of the time I don't have any problems with dirt staying in the mf, but if I do, it doens't really matter. I've never had problems trying to pick stuff out of them. What other towels are you washing your mf's with, that's the only thing I can think of.

in the washing machine go:

Poorboys Mega towels (orange with yellow silk binding)

Detail City towels (grey with red silk binding)

Sonus Der Wunder polishing towels (green, short nap)

Meguiar's Gold Class buffing towel (white)

Poorboys waffle weave (blue)

four cap fulls of Pinnacle Rejuvenator, cold cycle 2 rinses.

have you ever dropped your towels? bahh i hate it when i drop the towels.. it picks up everything :( ... i have to spend 15minites picking stuff out and making sure tehres nothing harmful stuck on the towel.. sucks.. bump for the thread..

on the floor?

That one is a goner. Goes into the dirty towels bag or Wash Bucket if its handy.

from now on I'm going to reserve my detail city towels (grey with red binding) for final passes and LSP's. My orange Poorboys towels for removing waxes/polishes/glass and the green Sonus polishing towels for the rockers, under the bumpers and just washes wheels.

y'know instead of making all my paint towels interchangeable.

I wonder if a fine fabric velvet carding brush would work? to seperate the fibers. I know i used it alot on the MF suede leatherette furniture.

I will give it a shot and any other brush recommendations. Seems like a good idea to give these towels a once over before they touch the paint. WOuld no doubt be a great seller

yes that right. I only have one and I'm afraid to stick it the wash with my other whites so I leave it in with the MF's. DOn't want car stuff all over my gym socks!

Then you may be getting cotton fibers stuck in the MF.
