Brine in Ductwork and interior....ideas?

A coworker wants to sell his vehicle due to a brine dust and smell coming from his ductwork.
He`s said he vacuumed his vents and interior but it`s making him sick. I think he tried blowing them out and changing the filter too.
He had driven on the highway when they previously brined the road and it never snowed, so the dust was in the air as he drove on the highway. (I know he makes frequent trips from NJ to MD)
I have a VX5000 I offered to try but does anyone have any ideas on a solution.
I could try my Master Blasted 8hp or Sidekick too.
Anyone ever have a similar experience?
 
I would try compressed air from a compressor first -- the VX5000 will introduce moisture that needs to be dried out by running the heater for a while. Much of the steam would exit the vents, but some will linger in the ducts and react with the salt.
 
Seems kind of srrange. If he has a cabin filter, how would it of gotten past it?

Either way, I would think forcefully blowing it all out would be a good step, maybe use something more like a leaf blower that will force a ton of air through. A compressor is high pressure but low volume, a blower may be more effective.

After that I`d try ozone while running the fan on circulate

If he stops over this weekend I`ll pull the cabin filter and run my Matter Blaster through it.

I didn`t think things get through the cabin filter but maybe after that looking drive the stuff went all through it
