i don't own a buffer or know how to operate one and don't want to try practicing on a brand new car so i thought i'd go the hand polishing route by using Sonus SFX-1 then Sonus SFX-3. attached are pictures of swirls on the hood/fender and what look like scratches on the front bumper. would SFX-1 be enough to handle the swirls and those scratches? and could i just skip SFX-1 on all but the most damaged areas?

IMO I don't think you are going to get those defects out by hand.

Where are you located? Maybe a local pro from here can get the defects out for you.

Honestly man... I debated for about six months as to if I should or shouldn't try using a PC on my new Mustang.

I now wish I had never debated... it's really not that tough. And many people will tell you here that it's virtually impossible to damage your finish with a PC.

A rotary is a different story, but do yourself a favor and pick up a PC and some good polish like Optimum and have fun making that finish perfect :)

You will not damage your finish with a PC unless your a moron. I have a brand new BMW and can't wait to get a PC...just need the funds for that autogeek package, hehe.
