Ok, for those of you that don't know, X-SP is a regional package available only in NC, SC, GA and FL. It goes to the Jacksonville port as a stripped down SR5 and gets leather interior, color matched flares, 20" Enkei wheels, running boards, XSP badges and XSP floormats. I also opted for keyless entry, rear privacy glass and fog lights. Its a good way to get nice options without having to pay for the Limited package. The other really cool thing is the rear window is power and slides up and down with the touch of a button. Anyway, I drove it up to MA from NC this week and am loving it!

Process was:

Polished fender flares and spot polished only areas that needed it with 3M PI III Machine Glaze (truck was completely free of swirls and did not need to be clayed, but did have a few imperfections here and there) and a polishing pad with a PC.

One layer of NXT. I am still debating on doing a second coat of NXT or a coat of #16. The NXT is so damn slick and took the new factory finish to the next level.

Wheels waxed with Meguiar's #42 (my mixture of #16 and #26) and tires dressed with Armor All Gel (great stuff).

The picture quality is ok, I need to really fine tune how I take them though...

Very nice looking truck!! I like the 42 thing. Had me immediately. What the F***. Then you explained. Am laughing now. You really got me!!

IF you would have time to post a picture of the front end. That would complete the piture for me. Aside from that you have one stellar looking rig.

Thanks cwcad, I happened to have about 1/4 tin of #16 and 1/4 tin of #26 laying around and it was right after the whole hybrid/mixing waxes thing on this site was being discussed. It turned out exactly as I had thought - a greenish color as a result of mixing yellow and blue.

So here is a pic of the front end. I think its got a nice clean look to it and I really like the honeycomb insert towards the lower part of the bumper which you can't really see in the pics - I think it looks real good. The skid plate also came with the X-SP package. What I really like is the white light the headlights and foglights put out. They also form one wide beam of light and illuminate the road very well.

Great looking Tundra! Very wet shine too. :)

You can't go wrong with NXT topped with #16/26 or a mix of the two should you decide to go that route.

No thank you!! With the addition of the picture of the front of the truck completes the picture in my mind's eye. Your truck has look of the wide stance. I also like the powered rear window.

That truck is so wet, I love the way the flares look on that color also, I have a 2k extened cab, and the best thing I did is to debadge it, the only emblem left is the one on the grill. Now it looks even smoother, you can prove it by playing with the photo and erasing the emblems in these pic's and look it over. That's what I did before I broke out the fishing line, I did save them so they could be put back on after a sale.

Yeah a while back there were numerous threads on mixing waxes to get the best of both worlds. I wanted #26's darkness and #16's durability. So I literally melted both in the #16 tin inside a pot of boiling water. Threw it in the fridge to cool and came out a greenish color - yellow + blue! Works great.

Dam thats sweet I love black, my last jeep was black after ten years I said no more black, now I think my next 4x4 Tundra will be black again, my current Tundra is red.

So whats with the old wives saying that when a auto wax melts, its no good anymore? Obviously you've done it...so Im guessing its probably a tale to get the consumer to buy more product maybe?

Did you have to stir the wax before you cooled it? Or as it melted?

There's no truth that melting a wax does any harm to it. That's how its created in the first place, from a liquid which is then cooled into a solid.

Once both clumps of #16 and #26 were completely liquified in the pot (on low heat for about 45 mins), I gave a couple gentle stirs but that was it. After 1/2 hour in the fridge, it came out looking like it had been packaged that way. I know this experimentation started out of boredom which is partly why I did it myself, but I do think there are some tangible benefits to mixing waxes to get each one's best qualities. I can also tell you that this concoction does indeed smell like crayons mixed with bananas!
