Boy did I goof up! My paint will never cure!

I purchased a new Ford Ranger at the end of November and since then I've applied AIO+KSGx4+AJ. Today when I was cleaning my door jams I've read the MFG tag. The truck was built on 11/05. I must have purchased it right off the delivery truck.



With that much sealant on it that paint will never cure! :furious:

Absolutely. No need to worry. Its custom paint that needs to cure, body shops dont have ovens like the factory.

And you've been on autopia how long? Yeah you're fine, man!! Factory paint = wax it the minute it leaves the paint shop at the factory :chuckle:
 
And besides, even if it were an issue, you could just strip the sealants with a 50/50 mix of water and alcohol...So either way, its not a problem.

Not likely. If they'd do that the whole interior would melt. Only the body travels through the oven, because the wiring, the plastics and the carpeting cannot stand the temperature.
 
the factory bakes a car much hotter than any body shop, although the paint a body shop is formulated to bake fully in the bodyshop oven



ive worked in a bodyshop 16 years and asked many reps about the paint cured thing...as long as it has been fully baked and allowed to cool ....its done thats its!! wax/polish seal what you like, chances the body shop/dealer has already done so anyway
 
The paint is ruined, the only solution is for you to sign the truck over to me and continue making the payments. :dance
