Bought myself a Christmas present

Okay, so my Griot's sheepskin wash mitt fell apart a few weeks ago, and I needed some sort of replacement. I was at Lowe's yesterday and decided to buy this:

Is this the $1.99 grout sponge that everyone is talking about? It was the only thing labeled "grout sponge" that I could find at Lowe's. I had not washed my wife's 325i since Thanksgiving so I had a nice, filthy car to help me with evaluating the new sponge!

So, after washing one car I came to these conclusions:

- The grout sponge cleans paint very well

- Dirt rinses out of the sponge very easily

- The sponge is rather "grabby" on the paint

- It doesn't get into crevices and tight areas as well as the sheepskin mitt

Overall, I think the sponge is okay but not a good replacement for my sheepskin. I will go to the Griot's website and order another mitt.

I posted this in the ONR thread, but I also want to know if this is the holy grail of ONR sponges to be had.

I have two cobra sheepskin mitts here next to me that i'll probably return.

it will feel grabby at first. but once it starts to break in it gets really soft. and that grabbiness goes away.

Okay thanks, I will look for that one next time I am at Lowe's.

look for it in the cleaning supplies aisle (mops, etc)... this sponge is very soft (even softer when wet) and squeezable to get into tight spots, which i like. it's not like the one you mentioned...

I couldn't find this sponge at my local Lowe's or one in Charlotte, NC. I gave in a added the Lake Country blue sponge to my DetailedImage shopping cart last night.
