jlift,
Let us know how this one worked out for you?? I did my first full detail this weekend in the sun...NEVER again!! Lets just say that waxing was a !@#$. I gotta get some sort of canopy too. Ray
Well, I got to try it out. My son and I set it up on Saturday morning (really takes two people, but pretty easy). It has slanted legs and my driveway is not flat, so that part was good. The actual canopy TOP was measured at 9 and one-half feet per side. I measured the bottom, from leg to leg, and that was almost 12 feet. So, I guess the measurements they print out on the box are somewhat deceptive in that it says 12 x 12, but that is the distance between the widest point on the legs. The actualy canopy, stated above, is barely 10 feet.
I have an 07 Yaris so that you can know what size car I drove under the canopy. There was "enough" room to walk around it with a hose and the car just barely fit under the whole canopylengthwise. I would say that 6 inches of either trunk or hood (depending on how you want to park it) was exposed to the sun. So, yes, it did keep the car cool (especially with the side flap attachment with is nothing more than a plastic tarp with velcro tabs sewn in so that it can be attached to the legs, but it would not be "ideal" for anything larger than a small car such as the Yaris. I am going to keep it. I bungee (sp?) corded it down to the stakes that came with it after driving them into my lawn. It's still up! I don't feel like taking it down just yet and it hasn't been windy at all. So, yes, it's OK, but a somewhat bigger one would have been a little better.
Just lucky I have a smaller car, I guess.
