Bought a Canopy.....finally!

I finally picked up a canopy. There was a sale at Sears. I think this will allow me to work on my cars on the weekend without needing to wait until the sun goes down. I will try it out this Saturday. It is supposed to be very easy to open/close. Never had one of these. Any comments on this one?

Thanks....

Quik Shade 135255 12 ft. X 12 ft. Quick Shade Weekender Canopy at Sears.com

I have a bigger one thats more or less to put tables under then a car, and mine requires two people for easier setup. However this one looks like the setup is pretty simple and I like the side flap to block out the sun. I may go pick one up myself...nice find.

jlift,

Let us know how this one worked out for you?? I did my first full detail this weekend in the sun...NEVER again!! Lets just say that waxing was a !@#$. I gotta get some sort of canopy too. Ray

I couldn't live without mine. Trying to work in the Florida sun in the summer is
I bought two cheap 10x15's, so when possible I could have a 20x30 space to work under, but both tents have had problems and I can't get parts for them so I had to make one good one and turn the other one into parts.:(

Too bad the tents are poor quality. I wanted to start selling them. (They were not quick shades or ez-up. I can't remember the name off hand.)

I'd like to know how easy this one is to get up by yourself. I bought one last year, I don't remember if it was a quick shade or an EZ up. It was such a pain for one person and took way to long to get up. I just pray for sun ever since.

Well, I got to try it out. My son and I set it up on Saturday morning (really takes two people, but pretty easy). It has slanted legs and my driveway is not flat, so that part was good. The actual canopy TOP was measured at 9 and one-half feet per side. I measured the bottom, from leg to leg, and that was almost 12 feet. So, I guess the measurements they print out on the box are somewhat deceptive in that it says 12 x 12, but that is the distance between the widest point on the legs. The actualy canopy, stated above, is barely 10 feet.

I have an 07 Yaris so that you can know what size car I drove under the canopy. There was "enough" room to walk around it with a hose and the car just barely fit under the whole canopylengthwise. I would say that 6 inches of either trunk or hood (depending on how you want to park it) was exposed to the sun. So, yes, it did keep the car cool (especially with the side flap attachment with is nothing more than a plastic tarp with velcro tabs sewn in so that it can be attached to the legs, but it would not be "ideal" for anything larger than a small car such as the Yaris. I am going to keep it. I bungee (sp?) corded it down to the stakes that came with it after driving them into my lawn. It's still up! I don't feel like taking it down just yet and it hasn't been windy at all. So, yes, it's OK, but a somewhat bigger one would have been a little better.

Just lucky I have a smaller car, I guess.

Well, I suppose I better look into something larger then...I like Troys idea with using two of them. Maybe two 12x12's would be just what the doc ordered. Not to fond of the two person set-up though.

Thanks
