Both glaze and wax are a mystery

The Whaler Loves Detail City
Used an unknown glaze and wax on a red car today.A member of the city sent me these mystery products to try out so I did so today. Both were a thick liquid. Both were a little troublesome removing. I used about a nickel size amount every time I put it on the applicator until the pad was saturated then I used less. I spread them on as thin as I could and let them dry to a haze a section at a time.I had better luck removing them with a very short knapped towel than the longer plusher one.The plush one seemed to smear the glaze around. Once I switched to the shorter knap I stuck with it. I didn't try the plush towel to take off the wax.
The results were satisfying. The glaze left a deep appearance but not much wetness. The wax took more effort to remove than I'm used to. After both were wiped off I went around a second time for the final buff. The result was a brilliant deep red.I wish it looked wetter but the car looked very very nice. The sun was going down as I finished up. Interested in seeing how the car looks tomorrow in the sun.Now that I used these two products I hope he tells me what they are. Also I think the wax would go better with light/silver paint as there is more shine than wet.Man I'm:passout: after that.:passout:

Rained today and the mystery wax beaded beautifully. The donor wants an update on the durability.:passout:

Tell them you are still trying to get it all buffed off. :)

You didn't get a wet look even with the glaze and the wax? Interesting. I guess I thought the "wet" look was part of the reason for a glaze. That and a little filling.

Did they say anything about addressing the difficulty of use?
Something that is hard to use isn't going to trip my trigger no matter how long it would last.

The glazes I've used in the past have given the paint a wetter look. This glaze is AutoMagic. It did not impress me with it's overall appearance although it did give the paint some shine I was looking for wetness. I'm definitely with you on the ease of use!:passout:

Mystery wax update! After being in a torrential rainstorm in Illinois this past weekend the wax is still beading as I got to see this as it drizzled here on Tuesday.:passout:

The car's surface is no longer beading like it was last week.So on beading alone I'm not satisfied with it's performance. It was applied about 3 weeks ago.
Now what is the name of this wax?:passout:

Not particularly easy to use.
Not particularly impressive in looks.
Not particularly durable.

It would seem that the name of the wax is not particularly important.
(Except maybe to avoid. :))

Too bad you wasted your time and effort, but maybe you saved someone else some disappointment.

I didn't waste my time Rainmaker. I enjoyed every minute of it.I like washing and waxing my cars, trying different/new products.:passout:

The wax was a product from Prestone which is no longer available. The donor said his durabilty lasted from fall until spring. I'm :idea either it didn't bond with the glaze or it died on the shelf. Something definitely happened or didn't happen. I washed her car today and used the flood method to rinse and the water pooled on the flat surfaces. It didn't sheet off like I'm used to seeing.
Maybe I'll polish it then try the wax again to see if there's a difference.
This will be difficult as my daughter can't sit still long enough for me to wash her car let alone a 3 stepper.:passout:
