Bonding to resin

Hi! If you use a resin base product, what toppers bond to it well?

Think of AutoGlym SRP. Wanna finish it with some eve better protection but I don't know what to use. Acrylic, like Klasse AIO/SG? Carnauba? Both?

I wouldn't really worry about the fact that it is "resin" and just think of it as a sealant like Klasse.

What that means is you just have to make sure that whatever wax you use over top of it is a non-cleaner, pure paste wax. Most retail waxes have cleaners, so buy carefully.

That said, any wax you use would really be more of just a "sacrificial layer" because sealants like those are usually much more durable (even untopped). If you have or use SRP, get the Extra Gloss product, which is the equivalent of Klasse SG. If you have nothing and can buy Klasse, then just get that and forget the Autoglym.

It seems like all carnaubas bond fine over SRP. I've topped it with a *LOT* of "straight waxes", paste and liquid, and never had a problem. As far as synthetics (besides the Extra Gloss), I'd gamble on 4-Star UPP. But I'm happy just putting a carnauba over SRP (which in some ways I like better than AIO). SRP +#16/Collinite is great for "drivers", and topping it with Souveran is great for "special cars".

Thanks! I'll go on and give my Paint Renovator/Super Resin Polish a good carnauba shot! I got a paste and a liquid so I will apply 3 coats at least. Maybe even I'll put Klasse SG between them; I don' know yet. Spit shining...

I tried the mystic Swissol/Zymöl application method with my Sonax Xtreme1 Paste and the results are breathtaking! I melted the carnauba in my palm, then massaged slowly onto the paint - with the hands it spreads extremely thinly; superb!!! - and after 15 minutes, using moderate pressure and a WW, I wiped it down with ONE slow move. WOW!!! If any fly tries to land on that surface... it will be the real PITA!

What to say? It was definitely sexual experience! My 3rd leg almost started to grow...:rofl
