Boat Detailing

I just bought a boat and it has some minor scratches in the gel coat from an improperly used boat cover... you guys think i could use DACP on it. Or should i use something specific for gel coats?

where is a good place to look for common boat detailing steps?

i searched and saw one post that said 3m finesse it 2 with a yellow pad then #885 collinite super heavy duty paste wax.

oh yeah... with the scratches being the exception... the gel coat looks new ( the boat is 7 years old ).

thanks in advance.

yeah, that was me :) !!!!!!!! I used a rotary buffer with finesse it 2, then collinite by hand. In all honesty, a rotary is necessary for gelcoat bc gelcoat is hard to level alone without heat.

cool, all i have is a pc so that will have to do for now.

do you have any suggestions for heavy duty vinyl? some of the seats have some stains on them that 303 isn't taking out.

303 isn't a cleaner, and your best bet is to mix a degreaser to water ratio for cleaning vinyl. woolite and water works well also(6 parts water to one part woolite. Use a bug sponge to apply it, and see if it works. If the seats are in bad shape, there's not too much you can do unless they replace them.
