Boat Detailers

Had someone call me asking to do a simple wash and wax. Boat is in good condition and while it would be nice to do more, hes pretty set on wash and wax. Anyways, I'm curious what mobile detailers to wash the hull well. I have marine shampoo from my sailboat but I don't have access to anything heavy duty like a pressure washer. Looking to see what most people do for customers with boats.

never by hand.

a 26' catamaran (TWO HUGE HULLS!!!) showed me that my arm isnt as strong as i thought.

i just use a long handled car brush (dont trust it on our cars' finish) with some car soap. we had a very chalky blueish-green stipe on the side that i used some 3M marine fiberglass restorer for. worked very well.

will the boat be on a lift? trailer?

Trailer. Good thing is it won't be a sailboat so the hull won't be enormous.

LOL.....back when I lived in the Keys I had a 36 foot sailboat that I lived on.....a thorough cleaning took just a little time and when i hauled it to dealwith the crap below the waterline that was fun too

~One man’s opinion / observations ~

I’ve only done a couple of boats but I used a (Groit’s) long handled boars hair- brush (with water hose attachment) with P21S Total Auto Wash and then Klasse AIO / SG

~Hope this helps~

Yeah, if can get really nasty over time. We have a really nice coat of anti-fouling paint on our hull which seems to work. I heard a couple of months ago that some species of seaweed was introduced to our coast from boats coming from Asia. Turned out to be very aggressive and really affecting boats due to its rapid growith on hulls. Anyways, it seems the boat is a rec boat for taking to the lakes around here every so ofter so it shouldn't have the growth of a regularly moored boat. Thanks for the suggestions.
