Boar Hair brush

anyone here uses the boar hair brush to wash their car? Is it worth the price tag? I don't mind paying the high price if it as good as stated. Just don't want to waste $50 on something that would cause damage to my paint.
 
I think that a lot of people feel that they can wash the car with the same if not better results with sheepskin washmits and they are way cheaper too.

Exacltly my point. Sheepskin mits are excellent washing tools as long as they are kept debris free. Sheepskin + two bucket = :bigups

another vote for sheepskin mitts..
 
Hey there is nothing wrong with using a quality brush. I use the one i got on my truck sometimes. They have their uses though, Fleets,work trucks,large vans, semis,etc.

If you don't have plans on going out and using it, don't waste your money.
 
i personally love the boars hair brush, not sure if the one i use is the *exact* same kind/brand from autogeek n such, but my one boss has this type of brush and he has had it for almost 10 yrs now and it is unbelievibly soft to this day, for the 50-60 price tag, i'd deff buy one for myself and use an el-cheapo mit for a wheel well or have a mid grade mit for the extremely harsh soil on a surface. the boars brush is almost too soft for some jobs, but for some1 who keeps their car in good condition, they are great, for the average person who does a wash on their daily driver once a month, not a good tool then.
 
another vote of sheepskin.. also a good mf wash pad works well i know boars hair is soft but i dont like the idea of a "brush on my paint" (just be being anal) so i stick with what i know, so i have to say i love mf and sheepskin
 
I'm planning to take the plunge and pick one up this year. Using a brush makes sense to me providing that the brush itself doesn't do damage. I've used some super soft brushes (non boars hair) and they were so soft that I could only use them on cleaner vehicles. One thing that I don't like about using a wash brush is that it doesn't feel comfortable in my hand. After 15 years of being mobile wash mitts feel like I was born with them attached.
 
For the $60 I would recommend getting a foam gun and a few quality sheepskin mitts. Like PhaRo said some of the soft brushes are not as versatile as you would like, and for that kind of money they better be really special. A foam gun though, you'll always use.
