I found this BMW service bulletin with instructions on how to remove paint defects.
One scary part
"Use a digital paint thickness gage to measure and record the clear coat thickness of surrounding imperfections. Do not remove more than to 12.5 microns or .5 mils (.0005 inches) otherwise the Ultra Violet protection contained in clear coat will be removed and this will cause futher damage to the paint."
Where can I get a digital paint thickness gauge ??!!!
Did using my PC with a yellow pad and IP remove more than .5 mils ??
Next part says to use meguiars M-84 Compund Power Cleaner, then a Meguiars W-7000 foam cutting pad on a rotary polisher use 1200-1700 rpm.
Then use Meguiars M-82 and a W-8000 foam polishing pad on rotary or DA.
All Meguiars products. Seems like overkill to remove swirls.
