2009 BMW X5. Friend from another board I post on is moving from Houston to Colorado, wanted to stop in Arlington on the way (his brother lives here) to have his recent acquisition properly protected for the much harsher winters he will deal with in Colorado. We really lucked out today, the huge patches of green on the radar never made it over us while working on the X5, and the skies cleared up this afternoon. The paint was in decent shape and just one polishing step was enough to make the paint look really good. Did need a lot of claying though.

ONR wash

Clay Magic blue clay

Optimum Hyper Polish using an Optimum microfiber cutting pad and my PC 7424 XP on speeds 5-6

ONR wash

Optimum Opti-Coat on the paint and wheels

Armor All on the tires/fenderwells

1992 Toyota MR2 Turbo. We'd recently detailed his red M3 (that he had detailed so he could sell it) and he was very happy with the work we did, said that we helped him get the price he wanted for the car. :)

This is his daily driver, mildly modified to put 250 hp to the wheels. The paint was very flat and had a grimy look thanks to Toyota's use of single stage white paint (which they continue to do to this day), the hood has some chipping issues as well. No real point in going all out on this car, some issues like the hood, trim issues, and daily driver status make a major correction pointless. The goal was to get the car clean and the gloss back into the faded paint.

Polished-no sun so I couldn't capture the increase in gloss at this point but you can see how the paint cleaned up.

That damn refrigerator white! Why in the name of all things holy do they paint cars that awful color. I feel your pain, I do a few single stage white cars and while it looks great afterwards, it will return to dull much too soon. Nice job on the BMW.

Thanks guys!

I told the owner of the MR2 to not wait until it oxidizes again to call. 3-4 times a year will not only keep the finish looking good but improve it each time.
