Thought I should warn you about a common problem with some BMW Mini seats.
I am going to call this car Christine as it does not like me, went back to this customer for a re wax and an internal clean to leather etc. Pushed both seats back and also tilted right back to clean leather, then moved forward with seat tilted all the way by pulling the appropriate lever, so could vac in the back. When I had finished I pushed the drivers seat back and then pulled the lever which allows/gives required seat angle, TOTALLY stuck, with the seat not locking in postion. Called the customer for advice, did she know about it?, did it sometimes stick?, NO this is the first time its happened. So now I feel a right prat, and after much jiggling, and movement of seat I have to admit defeat. The owner has a 3 year service call out, and today said BMW engineer turns up. AH! its a common fault with 03,04, 05, 06 reg cars he says, the cables get lost sometimes after the seat is moved a lot. You just have to give it a bit of force he says and it should click back in place!!
Luckily for me the customer was very understanding!
