Long time - no hear..
Hope you and yours are all well..
That Bimmer was hammered!!! Ridden hard and put away wet...
You really worked hard at it and that alone is a really good thing to have down..
I am proud of you - I remember not long ago when you first started out...
I like to put the chemicals, soap, etc, on the wheels and tires first, as you did, and then let them sit for a little while and go over them initially with the pressure washer really good.. You are using it already anyway, and it can always get into places better than anything else...
Then, when you come back and use that really nice long blue bristle brush in between each spoke, there will be a lot less to do most of the time, and you can really speed through this part... Be sure to hit all inside the fender liner as well..
It is harder when they come in with 2+ bigger wheels and there is not as much room to work with, so the pressure washer has to be your friend here...
Could not tell, but the better you vacuum the carpets before, the better the overall level of clean will be attained at the other end. I use a Tuff Shine Tire Brush to help move the carpet in all directions while I vacuum to get as much embedded dirt out at the beginning..
There is a long thin, metal, extraction tool that can get in between the seat and the console really good, along with a similar plastic vacuum tool to get all the dirt and crap out of that deep crevice.. You need to move the seats each way - all the way up, all the way forward, and all the way back, working from each end, and you can usually get it all clean, soaped, extracted, and not have to remove the seats, unless the Client is paying extra for that..
It would be better if you did not use so much soap on the carpets..
If you find that you need to use that much to get them clean, then I would be looking for another product that was stronger and you could use much less..
I assume your Mityvac is heating the water ?? If so, I would not key the nozzle inside the car on the carpets to get the hot water coming through the nozzle.
You need to remove all that soap and then all the water and if it gets deep inside into the padding it is always harder to remove and dry,,
I would key the nozzle outside the car until the water was hot coming out of it and then holding it down on the carpeting, key and extract...
Your soap foamed a lot too... Perhaps using a low foaming soap would be better..
Again, all the soap and water you put on there has to come out if you really want the carpets to be clean, rinsed, and not stiff later..
I would also get a smaller brush to use on the carpets so it can get into more places easier.. I always have at least 3 different sized brushes for cleaning the carpets and the smallest one is like a toothbrush with regular bristles on one end and smaller, stiffer bristles on the thinner end...
That Interior sure was dirty - amazing amount of dirt from the door panels !!!
I would not want to remove the headlight lenses ever on a car because they can crack and how do you know they are really water tight after you replace them ?
The smaller pads you used with a thick layer of tape under the headlights and all around so you dont hit something with the sanding paper would also work great, and it would save time too..
It looks like they came out great ! Good job !
If you can possibly use the 5-1/4-1/2" pads instead of the 6" ones, the machine will be easier to control, you can run it at full speed and get as much rotation as possible, which will always be better..
I could not really tell how good your correction came out, but the paint was definitely a whole heck of a lot better than when they drove it to the shop !!! Great job !!!
That was an awesome video, camera set up and work you did ON TOP of the great Detail work ! You have a great sense of framing and knowing how to place the camera so a lot is seen perfectly for the viewers..
Tell us how the Client liked it !
Congratulations on a great, great, job here !!!
