BMW M Coupe & M5

I love my cars, but I don't always treat them the wait they should be treated. It's ofter many months between washes, and MUCH longer between waxing. I vow to be better, and to that end I picked up a PC, and a bunch of Blackfire stuff. I tested the stuff last weekend by detailing my g/f car, and realized the Enhancing Polish wasn't going to be abrasive enough for the older cars I needed to do, so Angelo help me pick out SIP :D It wasn't going to arrive until this evening, so I decised to start this morning with the newest car, which didn't need the SIP.

The M Coupe stays in the garage except on the weekends, so it's paint is generally in good shape (by my standards).

I washed it, and then clay'd it, taped it up applied a coat of BF Enhancing Polish, and then BF Wet Diamond. Car looks great :D One issue is, I have a clear bra, so I taped off the edge. When I removed the tape it left a clear distinction where the tape had been, so I had to apply Wet Diamond to that edge so it didn't stand out. You can faintly see it in this picture. It was a lot more evident in real life.

I think the finish came out very good. I'm happy with the BF products, and the PC.

As I was finishing up the Coupe, the UPS man came (4 hrs earlier than usual) with my SIP and orange pads, so I figured I'd get started on the M5. This car needs a lot of work:( and I know I have been a bad parent.
Washed, clay'd, and washed with Dawn to make sure I get all old was off. Don't think there was any on since it probably been about 14+ since I last waxed this car. Neglected older child:o
The hood was cloudy, hazy and water spotted, and really needed the SIP.

I figured I'd do half of the hood and see how much of an improvement I could make. Not knowing how long it would take, and it was trying to rain on my parade.

Spending some time with the SIP made a significant improvement on the hood. Other parts of the car are going to need some SIP attention. I finished up the rest of the hood and trunk lid as they were the worst, and then switched back to the Enhancing Polish before calling it a night. If it doesn't rain on me tomorrow, I'' hit it with another coat of enhancing polish in the morning, and then wet diamond tomorrow night.

Took all day to complete, but I'm happy with the results and think my cars will be OK with there bad parent for awhile.

After reading the forum some more I've realized I've been moving the PC across the paint way way too fast, so today I attacked the hood again with SIP, but went a lot slower (tried to get to 1 inch per second - probably got to about 2 inches per second for most of the car). Haze on the hood is gone:D Put a coat of gloss enhancing polish on the hood, and a 2nd coat on the rest of the car. I'll let that cure, and will put a coat of wet diamond on tonight.

It's still overcast today, so no good outdoor shots of either car.
