hello all...it's been a long time :D:D

I've looked but didn't find any 'definitive' answers on this.

I am trying to polish my neighbors 1994 325i beamer and my PB ssr1 just aint doing the trick :( Should I order some SSR2 or maybe even SSR3? I know bmw paint is a lot stiffer than say, a Honda, right?

Any suggestions is greatly appreciated ;)

ps...what cutting pad for a Porter Cable should I purchace also?

SSR2.5 may be your best choice, especially with a PC. Although, you could try SSR3.

As far as pads for the PC, I can't be of much help, as I only have Meguiar's pads for that machine. They have worked fine for me, and I really don't use the PC that often to try other pads on it. I prefer different pads with my rotary buffers.

A lot of folks here have had good luck with the LC and Edge pads. Hopefully, they can give you some suggestions.

I used the LC orange pads with the SSR 2.5 and it did wonders on orient blue! I hope to post some photos soon! I first started with the SSR 2 and ssr1, but it would not cut the swirl. 2.5 worked wonders with the orange LC pad! Plus I used a 5 inch pad rather than the 6 and I like that much better on my BMW 330XI.

Thanks for the replies! I'll put an order in shortly for the SSR 2 and 2.5

I can't wait to see some pics!!!!

As others have suggested, get some 2.5 with a LC orange pad. Follow that up with the SSR1 on a white LC pad. Do not prime the pad with anything but product and you will get great results. I would stay away from the SSR3. It is very aggressive.

Speaking of, which SSR would 106ff Nano be equal to? 2.5?

Don't have any of the 106ff (yet :D), but from the specs I've seen, I would guess it would be somewhere between SSR1 and SSR2 on the cut scale. However, the 106ff is a very different product than the SSR polishes.
