BMW 525i Black! (56k no way!)

Remember that BMW I did a couple months ago? Well it came back to me. Water spotting was present yet again as were some swirls. The spotting was the worse though, for whatever reason it seemed harder to take off this time then last. Anyways, this was a freebie detail since my friend uses this as his daily driver. Heres the rundown...

OCW Wash

Zaino Z18 Clay

Hi-Temp APC 5:1 for the wheels and tires

Menzerna Power Gloss via Rotary w/ wool pad@ 1500 - 1800 RPM's

HTEC/OP 50/50 mix via Rotary w/ Orange pad @ 1400 - 1800 RPM's

Zaino ZPC via Rotary w/ White pad @ 1400 RPM's

Einszette 1Z Glass Polish via Rotary w/ Green pad @ 1400 RPM's

Zaino Z5 Pro x2

For the process I was skipping around as he didn't want a full swirl free finish. Getting out the water spots was his primary concern (though I tried to tell him otherwise..) The passenger side got the power gloss and 50/50 mix as it was the worse. The drivers side got the more gentle route w/ the ZPC

Enough talk, time to see the results!

I was thinking bout that but I wanted the protection to last this time. He hasn't put on any form of protection since the first time, and when I was washing the car there wasn't any sealant left (used werkstatts the first time), hence the reason I chose Zaino. 2 coats of Z5 pro should last a while

was it necessary to have so many steps by rotary?

For the passenger side yes. The etching was pretty bad. I tried most of my common combos and it didn't even touch it. The only thing that corrected it was the most aggressive I had: Menzerna Power Gloss and a wool pad. While that took out the etching it left a lot of marring behind.

Though as I noted it's not a swirl free finish. I ran out of time and he didn't want to lose the car another day to refine the finish even further.
