Blue Tape as temp. Bug-Shield?

AMDin93103

I like cheese.
I am going on a trip with my Gf up to the Bay Area this Thursday night. Last time I went I got pelted with bugs and some new chips on my bonnets nose. My Question. . . .because I spaced on getting an EGR bugshield and Monday nothing ships, can I just lay down like two more coats of Natty Wax and like 4" of tape across the nose? Will this be okay in the Ca temps for a few days or do I want to take this off once I am up north and reapply for the stroll back down. I prefer to keep my nose residue free. Sorta an Autopia University question, right?

Thanks.

To easily rinse off bugs, Pro makes a product called Bug Guard. I haven't been able to do any long term testing yet.

I believe it was Brad B. who used that approach effectively when bringing his new Mini Cooper home. Check his posts. I seem to recall he posted a picture of the Mini's nose all taped up.

While scouting for more detailing products to experiment with, I went to the Pro Wax site and saw that bug guard stuff. They do export to australia so I will get a few of their products as soon as I can (money's tight) regardless of the exchange rate and freight cost and let you guys know what I think.

Yeah, MBZ500E has used the blue tape for that. But get good stuff; I bought some cheapie version at Lowes to tape off the Volvo while polishing it- left it on for about four days and had nasty residue everywhere. This was in a climate-controlled garage, too.
