Blue is the Color, Honda Integra

Gen2

A little background story about this fierce Integra. The car was slightly more than 1 year when it was brought to me. It was on a particular paint protection system which claimed to protect the paint work for a pretty long time with 1 application, but the owner loved his car so much that he actually went back every month to reapply the protection coating for the past 12 months. After hearing this from the owner than I was really surprised to see those water etched marks on the bonnet, roof and the boot areas.

Besides the water etched marks, there were also minor swirls and spider webbing on the car too. The steps taken for this car was,

1. wash and clay

2. Power Gloss/RMG mix + yellow cutting pad + cyclo (to the 3 horizontal panels)

3. IP/RMG mix + green polishing pad + DA @ speed 5

4. VM/RMG mix + blue light polishing pad + DA @ speed 4

5. Carnauba Moose Wax (CMW) with foam applicator by hand, buffing off the residue with JW Carnauba Jett (CJ) and MF towel.

This time round I tried something different, I applied CMW panel by panel, when each panel started to haze; I sprayed a small amount of CJ over the panel and buff off the residue together. CJ being a water based product, by doing so it will actually have a immediate layering effect on the paint work. The end result turned out to being very satisfying, the depth, wetness and shine were very much enhanced.

Very nice job on the detail.

I like that car, just not that tape or whatever he put on the taillights and lose that decal on the side, that thing would be one of the cleanest RSX/Integras I have seen.

Is that a mugen stripe? Looks solid, I would love to upgrade from my teg to that haha. The eyelids look really nice too.

nice detail ;) i like the car, and that body kit...WOW, really amazing, the car looks great, racing style :D unfotunately, in portugal we dont have that kind of tuning, there's only cheap tuning...

 :bow The paint looks incredible! Absolutely dripping wet!

Looks like I have a new way to try Carnauba Moose. ;)

You seem to be using a lot of Clearkote stuff lately, how is CMW holding up for you?

Hello guys, thanks for all the kind compliments.

The tape on the taillight was something temporary, there was a crack on one of the taillight so the owner used this blue tape to cover up the crack. To make it looked more 'balance', he did the same thing to the other taillight too :D .

Not too sure whether is that a mugen stripe, I thought the stripe looks pretty good on the car too. Got to agree with you on the eyelids, it looks great on the car.

When I used CJ to buff off the residue of CMW, it seems like it is easier to work with the CJ as compare to using it alone. It could be due to the solvent residue from CMW that make the buffing of CJ easier. I have always like the deep wet look of CMW and CJ seems to further enhace the shine factor.

CMW looses its beading property and slickness pretty fast but that deep wet look will last for at least 1 month plus without any QD in between wash. With our weather here in Singapore, anything that can last for more that 1 month is considered pretty impressive.

Something else to add on, about 2 months ago I was down with chicken pox and I had to stay at home for 2 weeks to rest. At that time, CMW was already on my car for 2 weeks and by the time I recovered, it was easily more than 1 month with CMW on my car. My car was parked in an open area carpark, next to a highway, and during that 2 weeks it was raining on and off. So I was expecting planty of water etched marks on my car but when I finally got to wash my car, I was very surprise to see minimum water etched marks. That's when I believed that even the slickness and beading might not be present, the protection from CMW may still be there.
