I tackled my first Corvette today and it was a nice one! The car was very dirty when he brought it to me though so I gave it a little love.
I was nervous at first because I have yet to purchase a heavy compound for my collection and I've read the stories regarding the 'Vettes hard clearcoat. Fortunately the paint’s condition was pretty good.
Process was:
Wash with Meg’s Gold class
Clayed with Sonus detailing clay
Cleaned wheels with Gold class carwash and elbow grease using the Meg’s wheel brush to reach inside the wheels
Meg’s ColorX – PC speed 6
Meg’s machine glaze – PC speed 5
Collinite IW 845 – PC speed 4
The hood got Sonus SFX2, followed by ColorX, then IW due to some stubborn spots that I couldn’t live without removing
Wheel wells dressed with Armor-All
Tires dressed with NXT insane tire shine then buffed after about 30 minutes
Interior was vacuumed
Leather cleaned with Woolite/water mixture
Vinyl cleaned with APC mixture
Meg’s quick interior detailing cloths provided the matte finish to the vinyl
