Blue 2006 325i (Pictures)

There is no cure!
Well after much frustration with my digi cam and a lil help from Gregcavi, I picked up a new cam. My previous Fuji cam had an "AUTO ISO" that could not be changed and for some reason would haze all my pics. Well now that I got the new cam, and handed my Fuji to my younger sister, I can finally post some pics of details.

This car actually came in a month and a half ago. The owner was very upset with his dealership after they "fixed" some scratches that were on the car. So he brought to me to fix.

The swirls were bad. So bad that OHC did not remove most of them. So I ordered some Extreme Cut from TOL and buffed it. That removed 90% of all defects.Really happy with the results I ended it with some
Final Polish II. That particular day it was rainy, cloudy, and muggy. I had the worst conditions to buff a car. The humidity itself interfered a lot with the polish. Heres a snap of the day.

It looks like it was ready. I follow up with the owner 3 days later to see how it goes and he tells me he sees buffer trails on some areas. Wow... That sucks. I told him to bring it back as soon as he can, that I would take car of it without a doubt. He had some issues with his car (service visit), and then went on vacation. I didn't get to see it till yesterday. Wow. I was shocked to see what I had left. On some areas of the fenders it looked like I totally ignored. I felt so embarrased, that I decided to re-polish the entire with the best polish I had. MENZERNA PO106FF. Finsih it with Duragloss Sealant.

This time, nothing was left behind.

Joy -What camera did you pick up?

The detail looks amazing, especially the 2nd and 3rd shots!
Great write up too.

Its a Point and Shoot Digital.

Canon PowerShot SD630 6.0MP

Nice camera! Did you pick up any lens filters? I'm looking to upgrade myself this year. I have an Olympus (purchased in 2000), and most any 'modern' model runs circles around it. The latency between shots on the newer models has improved dramatically -as well as most any other dynamic!

p.s. -Again, excellent detail. The results are awesome!

I dont know about filters yet. I just had to replace the camera itself before I drove myself nuts with hazy pics... This is an example of an awesome detail that will never be shown due to the horrible hazyness my cam would leave...

I took a pic of this today with my new cam. Its Digi Macro mode is incredible...This is the best I could get because the darn thing kept running away with its lunch :) . This is how it looks WITHOUT zoom...Just upclose.

Great detail/story, joy.

It is unfortunate about the buffer trails, but I agree, PO106FF rids them pretty quickly and best of all, permanently.

Wouldn't FP2 remove anything that was filled or missed? I though it was a pure polish like all the Menzerna polishes?

Nice job on the detail :)

It does remove most trails. But that was my first time using Extreme Cut Leveler. It is very abrasive and must be learned how long to work in, so needless to say, it was a learning experience. Next time I will use the new popular mix of Optimum polsih mixed with the Extreme Cut.

As for Menzerna Final Polish. Its a final finishing polish. It did remove the trails and halos from MOST of the areas, but on areas where I worked the polished too long or too little it may have required a second pass.

As I showed in the pic prior, It was a rainy rainy day and I was using a brinkman dual xenon spotlight instead of my worklights which would have covered more of the area, instead of just a 1sq ft area. I simply just missed it.

I know this time nothign was left behind, so I cant wait till I follow up with the owner to see how he likes it.
