Bleach damage to carpet

Some time ago I had a bottle of kitchen cleaner leak in the rear cargo area of my Pathfinder.

The product (which I can't remember the name of now) had bleach in it and bleached out a 6"x 6" of the carpet.

It's not a big deal to me, but the truck is on a lease and will be traded or turned in in about a year, so I figure I'll need to fix it before then.

Has anyone spot dyed carpet in a similar situation? I'm not sure if I should try this on my own or go to an auto upholstery place or what. I've never done anything with auto carpet except vacuum it.

Where to start?

Thanks for any advice

aaron,

There are several products out right now that will easily re-color or re-dye your carpet.

Auto Magic sells, or used to sell a nice color-fast dying system for carpets and I am testing a carpet dying system right now that looks to be very promising. It is fast and easy and does a real good job.

I have also seen at PepBoys and AutoZone carpet "spray paints". If it is a lease car this might be the easy and cheap route you want.
