Blackfire ?

Hi all, I'm about ready to order my spring products, and I was wondering what the opinions were on the Blackfire products. I have used the Klasse twins with very good results, but the time has come to re-stock! I am considering going with the complete kit from Properautocare for $94.95. Please give me your thoughts. I typically like to treat my vehicle to a clay, polish and sealer twice yearly. I fill in with a carnuba topper for the rest of the time. Thanks for all the input in advance. desertoy:D

I have very pleased with BLACKFIRE on my black Dodge Ram. I did not top it with a carbnauba and it still looks great. However, I've been bitten by the NXT bug and plan to try it as soon as I have decent weather. :D

I use BF II on my wife's black mustang. For the winter months we are trying 1Z products on her car but come spring, we will probably go back to BF.

You cant go wrong with it, i use it nearly exclusively for dark colors. It does however inherit a dust problem, easily resolvable with a carnauba topper, or a wash...even a QD the next day will minimize the oils it leaves on the surface. I think for a poly its the best thing going, along with PUPP (Four Star). Have yet to even try nxt.....

If you can get it to NOT smear on you, then it's a very good product with a very nice shine. Personally, I'm amazed that some people are able to get this product to work properly because I sure as hell couldn't.

I am friend of mine has some BFII that she is waiting to use this spring on her chrome silver Nissan 350Z. I am interested in detailing the car for her to see how it compares to Klasse.

I had the same problems. I wish I could figure a technique to prevent the smears, 'cause I liked the overall look BFII provides (and I have most of a bottle left). I know it's not how thick I put the product on, as I only used about 1/4 oz. to coat the car (I put some in an oral syringe so I could accurately measure how much I was using). Extended drying time didn't seem to help, nor did wiping with QD after buffing off resdue; that just moved the oils around.

I don't want to give up on it yet, but smearing like that is my biggest, annoys-me-more-than-anything-else-detailing-related pet peeve. Nothing moves a product to the back of my shelf more quickly . . .

I had absolutely no problems with BLACKFIRE II smearing. I applied it to my whole truck with a pc and removed it by hand using two microfiber towels. One towel for a first "pass" and the second towel for a second "pass". I washed and QD the truck after 24 hours. Dust wasn't a problem after that and I live on a gravel road.

Tom,

I'll pull out my bottle of BFII this spring and give it another go-round. If I still can't get it to work well for me, I'll PM you, and you can take the bottle off my hands next time you're in Omaha. It's not doing anyone any good collecting dust on my shelf.
