Blackfire/p21s???

Hey there,

Ive been using klasse and p21s and liked the deep shine I was getting from that. Well I wanted to try blackfire and found that my car doesn't have that deep shine. It almost looks like a different color to me. I have two layers of it and still don't think it's as deep. It's a black blue metallic found on pontiac grand prix's. Well my question is if i layer p21s over the blackfire will that give me my deep shine again or will I need to remove the BF and put klasse and p21s back on? Have any of you think you lost some depth with the BF. It's a really smooth finish and looks good, but it's just not as deep as I liked. Thanks for any help.

Rideout- I don't have any dark cars at the moment, mostly all silver, but I'll take a shot at this anyhow. MY $0.02 is that you oughta go ahead and try the P21S topper, after you have enough coats of BFII on there to feel comfortable with the protection it provides.

MY experience (all on silver, but anyhow..) has been that WITHOUT USING A TOPPER, BF provides a deeper look than the K twins. So I'm guessing that whatever you've lost must be attributable to the P21S. So put a coat of it on the BF and see what you think.

Look at it this way: you're considering going back to AIO/SG/P21S combo, right? Well, the AIO will strip off the P21S along with the BF, so if the BF+P21S experiment is unsuccessful, you're only out the effort of applying the P21S over your BF.

Please post back with results whichever way it turns out, inquiring minds and all that.

Wow ! Very surprised ! BF II, is known (IMO) to really enhance dark colors....Makes me think there something between your polish and protectant...What did you polish with ?, or your suffering from the infamous BF haze......Have you washed or QD'd after you application ?

I used clay, SMR and the BF twins yesterday and was totally amazed last night under the flourescent lights at the change in color my truck took on......

I am a newbie but are you using the blackfire which is the sealant and klasse is also the same so it is being redundant and probably messing it up that way? I would think you would clay, cleaner wax, smr, blackfire, p21s

well they way isee it is that your using a wax thats not a carnauba (which is known for its deep, liquid shine)....instead you are using a Polymerwhich is more a a bright shine and can be "sterile" on dark colors......thats just my 2 cents

Wait a sec here....You said Klasse....is that AIO or SG ?

BFII + AIO = OK.....

BF II + SG = not good !! IMO !!

Just AIO. Im just wondering if topping off with p21s will give me my deep shine again. I didn't have time to try it this weekend. But im hoping to sometime this week.

If you tint a surface with one product then you can't untint it by layering multiple products on top of it. AIO is known to darken the color of the paint. Its not a something you can erase by layering other products on top. I've found that most of the products I've used that increase reflection also darken the paint. If you were happy with the shine before you used BF then you are going to have to strip the BF off to get it back to that state. Adding a wax on top isn't going to change it.
