BlackFire Gloss Enhancing Polish-Zaino-Meguiars 21

OK here it goes, I have a 2005 Accord that I compounded/polished about 3 months ago with Oc/Op/Z5x3. IMO the zaino does not have the pop it used to have and after reading some posts about Megs 21 i figured I would give it a shot.

My plan is to ONR/clay then polish the paint with a fine polish and LC white pad just get the paint ready for a coat of 21.

I have been reading about some of the better polishes and blackfire does sound interesting but my understanding is it does not have much cut. Can I use BF to remove zaino and prepare the paint for a new application?

I have some minor marring and imperfections in the paint but it does not warrant a compound but from my experience OP should beable to fix it.

Should i start with OP then go to BF or will BF have enuff cut to get the job done?

Also with the oils in BF affect megs 21's durability?

I have OP on hand but looking for that extra pop so i was thinking of stepping up to a higher grade polish i dont have to I know OP is a quality polish.

thanx for your help Bence!

I've had excellent results with the blackfire SRC finishing polish, which is apparently very similar to Menzerna PO1066FF. I was able to remove the marring after 3M extra cut with this stuff, which was amazing to me out of a finishing polish. Can't really give you any input or the gloss enhancing polish, but I can tell you that the SRC FP would definitely work for you in this situation

Depending on the color of the car and the condition of the paint, if you want extra pop it's really all in the paint prep. For a final polish I would definately use po106ff. The gloss that it produces is top notch and the flake pop is outstanding. If you use z-2 pro instead of z-5 pro you will have super flake pop. Z-5 pro deepens the paint too much on light color cars and light metallic colors. m21 would also be nice also. I have Blackfire gloss enhancing polish and it is loaded with oils and does not have any cut.

What color is it?

Where do you live? I live on the NH border near Nashua, NH.

i call it gunmetal it is a 2005 color, it is a dark color with flake.

I live a 1hr south of Boston.

I am just worried the BF will not remove the zaino so that i have a nice and clean clearcote to apply 21.

thanx for your help i will look into that polish

There is a substantial difference between Blackfires Gloss Enhancing Polish and there SRC Polish. BGEP is more of a glaze/polish while the SRC has some cut and is 106ff Menzerna.

Keep in mind BGEP is filled with oils, so for bonding purposes with 21 it might not be your best choice. If you were using a carnauba after BGEP then I would say no problem.

i was thinking the same thing cleaning

I know zaino needs a clean surface but havnt heard much about Megs in that regard

I think I am leaning towards FPII or 106fp

The Blackfire Scratch Resistant Finishing Polish and the menzerna PO106FF Final Finish are basically the same products - tested them side by side, and the cut the same, worked for the same amount of time, removed just as easily as each other and achieved the same defect correction... so I would say they are pretty much the same ;)

I would have a go with the SRC Finishing Polish as this still has quite a bit of cut to it for a finishing polish and yet finshes down beautfifully making it an excellent all rounder as a polish. It will easily remove any LSP coating and will remove light to medium swilrs on most paint types as well.

Meg's sealants works fine with polishing oils from their own products, I've found this to be true as long as there's not like a film of oils on the paint. But you can't really know how it will work with oils from other brands..

Anyway, if you wipe down the car with a QD after polishing this will leave the surface ready for most sealants, plus it helps to remove any residue you might have missed.
