Stuff is really getting pushed here as of lately and it seems that all involved with Autopia recently are really pushing it when in fact there are many great products available other than Blackfire.

Perhaps change the name to BlackfireForums :D

JMO!!!!

I'm sure the forum pushes any new product available. It's called advertising. The excitement:yay is due primarily to the recent uncertainty of the line.

Blackfire has a following of many great, experienced detailers:bow and with this being the new home for the line this forum will likely benefit from some of said detailers postings and advice.

Just curious; have you tried Blackfire? Or are you simply loyal to another product and resistant to change?:D

It's just like every message board... there will always be the "flavor of the month" and its up to every individual to determine what's worth it to try or not.

Yes I have tried their stuff and I am not bashing Blackfire here at all......:D

Are you loyal to Blackfire and resistant to change? ?

;)

I can speak from my experience. I am thrilled that Blackfire is alive and kicking. Any pushing of the product is my enthusiasm spilling through honestly. While I am excited by Blackfire and would be lying to you if I promised to try to hide that, I don't want this forum to ever be product specific nor do I want to over shadow the other amazing products offered at this store. Your point and opinion is extremely valuable in this regard.

Autopia-CarCare.com is an open forum and product discussion is welcome on all levels although we all must remain vigilant against spam. I would strongly encourage you or any forum member to start a thread about any product they would like to discuss.

We recently added Dodo Juice to the store and I am excited as I was directly involved with the first company that brought this line to the US and I know their wax line inside and out. Unfortunately, because of other projects (which are stacking up at a ridiculous rate) I haven't been able to give that brand the attention it deserves.

As a side note, I couldn't help but notice (and love) your name. My dad had a 1969 442. We pulled the original 400 and had a 455 built. Back in that day it was one of the first Old engines to get a set of Modeo polished Edlebrock aluminum heads (1995ish), a solid custom Crow cam, custom fit roller rockers. In fact spending hours with my dad polishing the solid Cragar aluminum wheels (with Mother's Mag and Aluminum polish) are what led to my obsession with detailing.

I'm assuming that the BF thing will die down in a few weeks and our forum will be back normal with more discussions of multiple brands, products, and techniques. Also Todd is Mr. BF.

How bout my old friend from Germany who is the owner of Scholl Concepts products here...................

I understand your excitement about Blackfire as I am also happy the products are available here. But thats all you guys have been commenting on as far as products and thats why I said what I said and how I feel. I certainly do understand that your transition is very time consuming and a lot of hard work and in no means am I or was I saying anything bad about you guys. I was merely pointing out my opinion! Thanks for replying to this thread!

HAD a 69 442? Thats a tough ride to get rid of and a sure beauty! Glad to see some Oldsmobile love!! I have a few in the 68-70 range and really enjoy each one!

My first car was a '77 442. My mom special ordered it with everything she wanted. When I got it it didn't look nearly as nice as it did when I grew up but a lot of the guys in high school thought it was fast without seeing it run. I remember washing it at least a couple times a week when I would get home from school.

There are certainly many great products out there and I have tried a few of them. I really like Klasse for example. Werkstatt, Powerlock, Wolfgang 3.0, M20, Fuzion, Prima, M16 are also on my list. I have also recently tried Opti Coat and love that too. I am certainly open to new stuff. For me the BF excitement is due to the fact that I don't want to see the hard work of the BF founders go down the tubes. I think its great that an investor with the resources to do so is taking over the line. I am sure I will continue to try a few new products as BF is not my end all be all in sealants. It is a great product, though and I am excited to be able to continue buying it.

I also like the fact that this forum is open to discussion of other products. So I hope that the folks that were here before the BF/TID crowd will bare with us in our excitement.

Remember the good old days when everyone would only talk about UTTG and UPGP. Oh how I miss those days. haha. Im curious to try out BF. The sealant seems to get nothing but rave reviews. I do understand Dr Oldz point. It does seem to be the hot topic for sure.

I'll bet this looks familiar then:

Just uploaded a bunch of pics from the big Oldsmobile Homecoming show that was here in Lansing a month or so ago, I'll be making a new thread with them shortly.

As I mentioned in another thread, BF was used by a few here, including me and it also received reviews here. I think it was Jared Pointer who did the review.

One advantage is, it's bringing in TID membership over here, which will help this forum to continue to grow and hopefully remain a viable place to learn and shop.

When I first arrived here, it was predominantly Poorboy's World. Not that it mattered, just stating a fact.

Brings back great memories of the 70's! One bad a$$ car for sure! Thanks for sharing the pictures with us here.:bigups

I am a hardcore BF user, It's hard to grab anything thing else when it comes time to seal the paint. BF Wet Diamond is a super easy to work with and a long lasting sealant. it does everything you need and more. and the Shampoo and conditioner is great too, I use it for my return maintenance washes that are already treated with BFWD it just adds to the Black Fire Treatment. and the Detail spray is also amazing at beading water and keeping that paint protected. and last but not least, the Gloss enhancing polish, Yes it does have fillers, but not every car and every customer wants a Full 90%+ correction, so it is my job to make the car look as good as possible and black fire does that. just my .02. Black Fire For LIFE!!!! Wut Wut!

Thank's Eric!

I'll be honest, my first experience with Blackfire Wet Diamond All Paint Protection was less than desirable. I just couldn't figure out what all the hype was about? After some reflection I recalled applying the product over polished paint but without an IPA wipe down. Could this have had something to do with my experience? Possibly. So a little time went by and I used the product again with different results. This time it was ok. So I sampled out quite a bit of my bottle and put it away for almost a year. I spoke to Todd at SEMA about my experience and he encouraged me to try the product again. So not long ago I had a return client and wanted to give BFWD one more chance. I dusted off the bottle, shook the ever living heck out of the bottle for a solid 5 minutes, gave a little nod to TH and went to town. WOW! I don't know what the difference was but man this experience was way better! The surface was crazy slick, the product applied and removed with extreme ease. This was the BF everyone was speaking of. I need to pick up more BF items and test the system together. Not sure it will replace my Duragloss products but I'm certain I will use it more often. Thanks Todd :yourrock

I am not affiliated with any of the lines or forums. The BF is a great product. I like it for its ease of use and slick feeling. it also last quite a while. I tried it on the reccomendation of a pro from TID and I was not sorry. I came from UPGP and still like it for it WOWA quickness. It is also a great product and I have 4 vehicles and use both products for what i am looking to achieve on each.

I am waiting for the NONO Nonsene to perfecft itself them I will most likely try one of those.
