As long as it's a high quality foam applicator you will have not problem. I am sure CMA would not supply a low quality applicator. I use both MF, terry and Viking foam applicators with equal results. The important thing is to use very little protectant and the applicator must be dry initially.
The CMA instructions state to use a nickle size dab. That is way too much for most panels. Try a 1/4" dab and massage onto panel creating a very,very thin film. Like Zaino, if you can see the produce without problems, you are using too much.
