Blackfire 2 on medium metallic blue

A month or so ago I posted a thread asking for opinions on Blackfire 2 versus Platinum UPP for a medium metallic blue car. Thought I'd post a couple shots of the results (I went with the Blackfire 2). I'm very satisified with the results but now after all that research I see that Meguiars is throwing a new synthetic into the ring. Not sure what I'll use next spring. Here's the first shot of the results.

Second shot showing that the metallic properties of the paint are still highlighted.

Holy ****, that's amazing. Blackfire is awesome when it's not humid out, I must say. I topped my black stratus with Pinnacle Liquid Souveran, so beautiful. Wish I had a digi cam. I'll get pictures up soon, after I put another layer of LS on. Awesome. Best picture I've seen on here. :)

Thanks. Even though I think it looks good as well, that new Meguiars synthetic still makes me want to experiment again once it's available.

Holy crap thats nice. I have a very similiar paint to yours. Electron blue. I used SMR followed by klasse AIO and than SG. I used one coat than another the next day and the metallic really pops.

Does blackfire make the metallic show up really good? CAn you layer blackfire? And more importantly can you layer blackfire on top of SG (would it do anything?)

Here is a pic of the car done with klasse, it was about 5 or so and virtually no sun was in sight so i couldn't get any metallic shots.

Your Firebird's finish looks great. Yes, you can layer Blackfire but you're supposed to wait 12 hours between coats with the new formula. I don't know if Blackfire would bond to SG, maybe someone else can provide that info. As far as Blackfire showing the metal flake, like you said, it really depends on the lighting conditions.

You can do aio and blackfire, a very slick combo that lasts about 4 months with weekly washings and occasional qding. I don't know about topping sg with bf2, but, some ppl top klasse twins with platinum, so I dont know. Trial and error, go ahead and try it to see if it works.

I've been considering using Blackfire on my 2001 Navy Blue Vette. I bought the car almost two months ago, and am still trying to decide on which Cleaner / Polish / Wax to use. I see a lot of great reviews on the Blackfire. And the Firebird photo above is amazing!!! Any recommendations? Thank you!

Brining posts back from the dead I see. ;)

I don't know if you noticed but the Firebird has Klasse on it.

It's up to you, any of these are going to give you really good results. I really want to try the Wolfgang products. They seem to just that much better. You may want to do a search on them too. :)

Well i'll join in on this "back from the dead" thread. Believe it or not i didn't really notice until i put my car on a lift that the finish isn't all too great, it has alot of orange peel, and i thought it didn't, i really had time this weekend to inspect the paint finish and although it was wheeled it wasn't color sanded as the final step, although it was sanded in between each coat. Nonetheless i plan on wet sanding this mofo and if you guys think the paint looks good now i can't wait to see it when the OP is gone.
