One of my good friend/customer ask me detail is Black 04 WRX. When I saw the car I realized it wasn't your average WRX with 70kmi, It was his daily driver when he used to live in Canada where the roads and the weather are some of the toughest for a car. The car barely got any wash (or a couple of automatic wash). The paint, trim were horrible, the wheels some of the worst I ve seen. I knew that it wasn't going to be a quick half day job but more a two day mission!
Here are some pics of the car before (I apoligize for the quality of the pics but I am the worst photograph ever especially when I am busy detailing)

I started with the wheels using:
P21 wheels gel
various brushes
DP degreaser
I had to do around 4 passes to get a good result (usually with P21 one is enough)
Here is the result:
After it was time for a good wash using:
Two buckets/ Foam gun/poorboys SS wash/ sheepskin/ water sediment filter/ Cobra MF drying: Finally the gold flakes from black subaru paint appeared:
After the wash completed, you could feal the roughness of the paint, clay was going to do a lot to the car, using meguire mild clay (almost an entire bar) finally the paint felt smooth again.
The car was now ready for polishing/paint correction. I decided to do spot compounding on a couple of area (part of hood, door, bumper...) with orange pad and optimum hyper compound, Menzerna SIP with orange and white pad, menzerna Final polish with white and green pad, Glazing with grey pad and poorboy blackhole and finally wax with red pad and pinacle souverain. the following was used:
Makita rotary
orange pad (compound/polish)
white pad (polish/Fp)
PC
green (Final polish) grey (glaze) and red pad (wax)
Menzerna sip and fp, optimum hyper compound, poorboy's black hole glaze and pinacle souverain. Here are some pictures of the final product after trim restoration, tire dressing etc...)
Since there was no more sun I used the flash on a couple pics to show any swirls and they re all gone! please note that the car had a lot of deep scratches that can't be removed:
Notice the gold flakes:
The customer was really happy with results and this is what matter the most.
