Black trim - white wax stains

I have the black trimmed luggage rack on top of white subaru and it's stained with wax residue from too long neglect; the white wax stain shows like a neon sign on the black rails! :ticked

How best to get rid of the white wax residue on the trim? I've tried the toothbrush and nylon detail brush with some success, but there's got to be a better way...suggestions?

Thanks for any insight/help/suggestions/tips...

Product recommendation: Mother's Back to Black

It's worked very well for me on both smooth and textured black plastic trim. Goes on easy and works very quickly. Just follow clean up with a protectant and you're all set.

Also, you should be able to find this stuff locally at the usual auto supply places (always a bonus in my book.)

The oil in the peanut butter will take it off. However Poorboys trim restorer with a tooth brush will take it off in a minute. Follow the link to his site.

A very good option is GR-40. It is made especially for this task. It is available at Top of the Line. Give it a try, it works really well.
