Black Trans Am restored with a 2 step correction

I have a 02 PT Cruiser that I regularly maintain w/Zaino, and a chevy astro that is neglected somewhat. I want to bring back the luster and use a low-maintenance polymer to protect it for awhile(since it's big and time-consuming to wax). I don't have the time(or money!) to keep up the zaino, but was wondering on Klasse.

I've been looking to try it, and figure this is perfect!

Also, can anyone recommend an easy-to-use clay(and inexpensive!)???

Thanks:up

Try clay magic for a clay you can buy locally.

I do not think with Zaino you would have many problems or cost problems if you use it already. Wash, remove swirls and clean paint, remove oils from swirl remover, then apply 2-3 layers of your Z2 or Z5. Then you are done for 6 months or more. You can then add another layer in 6 months and then again in maybe 9 months.

You can wash with Z or any wash. you can QD with Z or any QD.

With Klasse you do the same prep then use AIO then apply a 2-3 layers of SG. Then you wash and QD with your faves.

I do not see much difference other than the AIO cleans the paint and adds a layer of sealant.

HTH and does not confuse you more.

I have a similar game plan Drewski. I have elected to use Klasse on my Odyssey. I'm guessing you may need to prep a bit like GMN said, then AIO x2 followed by as many SG coats as you feel like.

I do not use a topper any more, just QD after washing , and apply more SG when I feel like it. It's holding up very nicely. Recommend it!

Well, from what I understand Zaino is as durable as Klasse. It is a great and long lasting product, not that much is required from you in regards to the upkeeping of a automobile with Zaino.

Don't use a topper ...... when the shine dulls just add another layer of Klasse to restore shine and protection.

I Klasse my van and it looks great, i QD few times a week...and still looks good...this Van stays outside 90 percent of time. I keep adding AIO because I like to....AIO looks better on this car then my other indoor car so i stopped. I use pinnacle Souv.on that

one....

A couple of full weekends a year with Klasse will do your car so nice.

It's not so much saying that Klasse is more durable than Zaino, it's just saying that a couple work ins of AIO is a more effecient single layer system from a durability standpoint (flaming suit on).

If AIO only leaves ONE layer of protection no matter how many times you use it then that's one damn good single layer of protection. And that single layer is a lot more durable than many other single layers out there. (Until someone compares it to other single layer systems out there) I think 2 - 3 touch ups of AIO per year and you're golden on an outside car (a little SG for some added flair).

Tim's the only one who sells a 13 oz size of AIO, perfect! :up

This one came to me from another forum member. In pretty rough shape with heavy swirls and RIDS o' plenty. Two days working on it brought about a good transformation. Weather wasn't cooperating when it was picked up, had rained just a couple hours before, so no sun shots unfortunately.

It was dropped off for the same job and at the same time as this one I did recently: http://truthindetailing.com/Forum/showthread.php?t=5416

Process was M105 PCXP on LC orange, then SIP on LC white, IPA wipedowns and LSP Blackfire Wet Diamond.

Wheels cleaned up. Insides were severely stained and needed to be removed to be fully restored, but still cleaned up pretty well.

Looks pretty good here right? Lighting makes all the difference....

Now, lets leave the camera in the same spot and just change the lighting.... What do we have here? A LOT of work to do!

Thanks for looking!

Now that was a hell of a transformation Jeff. It looked like it was taken to the brillo wash often, and you really brought her back from the dead. Those 50/50 shots were spot on. The reflections in the paint looked ridiculous!:drool5:

Thanks again for sharing it with us.

Nice work !! Dang, there are a lot of curves surfaces on that beast. It must have been a chore. Did you use 6.5-in pads everywhere? (Cyan looked like 6.5-in).

Thanks Barry! It was a lot better than the accompanying black Z28 that was with it. But it still needed a lot of work. I should have taken some 50/50 shots after finishing down, but after I did the compounding, I forgot to get the camera lol.

Great work once again Jeff! Huge turnaround on that car.

Thanks Kody!

Yeah, 4th gen TAs have a ton of curves! I used 5.5" pads and 4" pads. The Cyan was a 5.5", just looked bigger for some reason. Thanks!

Miss the T/A's, one thing I don't miss is the freaking hood on those! so many curves on it! Great work Jeff!

+1 with Angelo, those hoods are an absolute pain! Great work all around, the car looks about 1 gazzilion times better!
