Black Titan and an oxidized white 2006 Si

Been meaning to upload these pics for the past month or so, but I've just been busy.

Lighting sucked in both details, but more so with the Civic. Shooting that white car in that lighting was nearly impossible, so excuse the crappy quality.

For the Titan detail...

-Wash with DG901

-Wolfgang clay

Used the Flex 3401 w/orange + white pads....

-Meguiar's #105 in stubborn areas

-Menzerna Power Finish on most of the truck, tried mixing them together in some areas and it worked very well - increased working time and still cut fast / finished down VERY nicely.

-Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant

Curious cat...

Scratch on the front bumper. Before / After 1 pass M105 / After 3 passes M105

Mixture of Menz Power Finish and M105 on the hood, tested a small area which is why the surrounding spots were still swirled (part of the hood closer to me).

Diamondite Glass Restorer on the windows....these were terribly stained and needed multiple passes

And finally done. Didn't go too crazy taking too many "after" shots which kinda sucks, but the sun was killing it, I was dead tired, and my customer needed his truck back.

OK and now for my terrible 2006 Si pictures.

This car was washed with DG901, clayed with Wolfgang Clay like the last one....then M105 with a cutting pad, Power Finish with a green pad, and I wanted to put something very durable on it so the oxidation wouldn't come back, so I used Duragloss #105.

PB BnB on tires, Opti-Seal on wheels, etc.

This whole car was very oxidized, my guess is a lack of protection + nasty sprinkler water + soft Japanese paint + harsh sunlight = crappy finish.

It also started pouring halfway through the detail, so "afters" were taken in the garage.

On a side note, in that last pic...the new WG DGPS 3.0 is beading very nicely on the hood of my beater Civic. Not bad for 2 months and not 1 single wash. :D

Looks GREAT! Matt, did you notice much orange peel on the Titan? Especially on the rear fenders? I ask because I have a black Titan and sure seems like the rear fenders have a lot of peel......Hood and front not as bed.

Again great job, it's a lot of truck! :usa

I didn't notice more in any specific areas, but every truck I've encountered has had pretty bad orange peel, and this one was no exception.

Great job Matt - the Titan looked amazing -and the SI too. I have a sample of that new Menzerna power gloss coming in, hope my results look as good!

Matt, I love the side picture of your Titan where the black mirrors the ladder, bucket, hose and lawn. Nice. That's what I love about black autos =) And the before and after pictures with the swirl marks? Mirror gloss finish. . .I can't wait to work with my boyfriend on my car, I need to stop being lazy and begin detailing my car again soon!

btw. . . The curious cat is so cute!

Oxidation on a 2006? Yikes... for the premium you pay for a Honda you think they could deliver some quality paint...guess not.

sure looked good when you finished though!
