Black Teaser pics- My now chrome 9-5, and before and afters on a CTS-V

Well I'm surely polished out, after putting probably a combined 20+ man hours just polishing, and thats after I had two final exams yesterday. The Saab is in the garage just awating front and rear bumper polishing, and the V will be completed tommorow.

The worst part is, my Hitachi's switch isnt working:wall , so I did all of this by PC:buffing:.

Man I miss my rotary!! ( Probably gonna pick up a Metabo, really love the idea of a lighter smaller rotary)

Heres the process on the 9-5 in these pics (I needed to go really agressive to start with on this. The car wasnt proplerly taken car of until May of last year, but we did buy it new.)-

CWG Wash

Z-18 Clay

HTEC/OP 50/50 on LC Lambswool leveling pad at 6

HTEC/OP 30/70 on LC Yellow at 6

ZPC on LC orange at 6

MORE PICTURES!! From the lighting, the cars seem great, but some sun shots would be awesome :) After using a rotary, would you consider the PC a pain to work with? Do you think that the PC increases the time you need to use to polish the car?

Mike, more pics comming soon, sun shots for sure. And I find the PC is a MAJOR PITA to work with after passing the learning curve with the rotary. The rotary is faster, smoother, and I get better results out of it.

Nice work!!! Look into the edge system and wool for your metabo. Depending on the severity of the defects, I use the green wool and follow with ZPC and a white LC or green P2 pad to clean up. I just got a few of the edge wave 6" pads in so I will use them on the next detail for the cleaning up after the wool.

So true and you are gonna love the Metabo. My hitachi is working fine, but now its just a spare.

Bryan, your post just further justifies my purchase, and I'm going to deffinitley pick up the edge wool, as I already have the EDGE 2000 Rotary system. Send me a PM on how you like the 6 inchers, because the 8.5 seem a bit too bulky and I have a theroy that the 6inch pads will be WORLDS easier to use. When and if I fix my hitachi, its gonna be me my rig for doing boats.

Photo Update: The sun has disappeared here in NE. Saab is done, just waiting for some sun, and my neighbor wants it done when its sunny out. Oh well, what're yah gonna do? Sorry guys.

Ben, I just got the 6" pads in yesterday, but have not had a chance to use them yet. They look really small and are only the "wave" style on one side. :nixweiss I may get to try them out next w/e.

Excellent paint correction :2thumbs: I'm looking forward to the after shots in the sun.

+1 on the Metabo. It's smooth as silk and has a very balanced feel, much more so than my dewalt rotary. The set up is very similar to a PC (on/off switch & speed dial location).
