black soft top bed covers dressing issue?

Do you guys normally dress the black soft covers that pickups have? I used to dress mine and had no problems, but the instructions said never to dress them. I have a customer tommorow who has one, and im wondering what method I should use, also what dressing?

I just clean them normally, if anything just use a little 303.
