hey guys got a question for you i just bought an '05 black subburban. the paint dosent seem to bad,but i do plan on buying a PC here in the next month or two. what wax and polish should i use on the black paint that will look the best? i will be applying these products by hand for now. what are your thoughts and ideas?

I have a black VW and it is a job to keep the paint looking new, but I have had the car for 2 years now and still looks like wet paint.

I use ONR, megs paint cleaner, Zaino polish, megs cleaner wax (or other megs waxes), and danase wet glaze.

Now don't get me wrong I still have some swirls and webbing because I apply by hand and I'm not that strong, but it still looks damn good.

Hope I gave you some ideas :)

I think the black rent-a-Suburban I did was an '05....anyhow, the clear on those is pretty hard and doing correction by hand will be a job-and-a-half to put it mildly.

I'd go with either Meguiar's M105 or their (presumably similar) Ultmate Compound. Follow with something milder such as their new Swirl-X or 1Z Paint Polish. Then wax.

Even with a rotary/Flex/whatever doing those full-size GM SUVs is a real job (I have a metallic black '04 DenaliXL). Good luck with it, and I suggest you plan to do one/two panels at a time, after each of a series of regular washes. Doing the whole thing at once will take quite a few days IME, depending how meticulous you want to be.
