Black Magic Gel

If anyone here has used the Black Magic Tire Wet Gel, can you please tell me if you also got a black sheet of goo on the parts of the wheels nearest to the tire? Is it the product's fault, or am I doing something wrong?

ive used it a long long time ago. what u're speaking off is called sling. many products give sling. its actually the dressing it self coming off when the wheels are in motion. a lot of oily silicone dressings do that. they dont absorb into the tire but rather sit on top of the rubber. all i can suggest to u is to apply and then 10 minutes later buff with a rag. the shine wont be as greasy and shiney but it wont sling as much.

my suggestiong is to drop it. much better products and black magic dressing has soo much petroleum dissilates it can fuel my car. u're tires will turn brown in a matter of a month of use.

O wow, thanks!! I thought sling was when it was thrown outward; this stiff is going inward onto the wheels. I'm never buying this stuff again, but unforunately one bottle lasts forever. What tire shines (OTC, preferably)actually get absorbed, and yet still have that "wet" finish to them?

the term absorbed is really a bad one. i really cant explain it but tire gel products seem to be the hardest to aply simply because u have to clean out the grooves of the tires (side wall letters, numbers, grooves, ect). most if not all "waterbased" dressings dry quickly and do not sling. they dont last as long during wet conditions but if its dry weather they last a good 7-10 days. if u want a durable dressing id go for some eagle one wet tire shine. last a good amount and a quick buff eliminates most sling. just make sure to go over again with tires with lots of grooves and lines on the side wall.

get some "dupont teflon tire shine" u can find it almost everywhere and it gives different levels of shine with no sling. i love it for a good OTC dressing

eagle one tire swipes are good. i just cant stand how they start detaching from the yellow grip after a couple weeks. my new method is to get some dish sponges from the house cleaning isle at the supermarket.

they dont detach from anything and hold product quite well.

I've been using yellow foam applicators for my tire dressing as well as for waxing. keep them in a separate bag to avoid getting dirty ones mixed with clean ones or your towels.

Wash in a bucket of dish washing liquid

Yeah the EO swipes do keep detaching, which is annoying. But worse than that, the Black Magic gunks them up so much that float in the bucket when I go to wash them out! Which OTC tire dressing do you like better, the EO or the DuPont? I'm kinda turned off from DuPont because I spent 8 bucks on their wheel cleaner which wasn't very effective.

they're both good, and the tire shine is nothing compared to its wheelcleaner. nice, even, glossy look. eagle one will clog u're applicator tho. only thing that will clean it out is degreaser.

Actually, the Mother's FX Tire SHine looks excellent from everybody's reviews, so I think I'll get that. Will it reduce gloss to spread it with the swipes? I like the wet look, so I don't want to reduce it to the "matte" that everyone here loves so much.

I made the mistake of using Black Magic one time.

Worst "sling" of any tire dressing I have ever used.

I switched to Meg's Endurance and I haven't had a problem since.
