Black LX470...lots of pics, but they're small

Did my Mom's 01 LX470 this past Sunday. It is an 01, but we have updated the wheels (got a heck of a deal). Put about 8.5 hours into the exterior and didnt touch the interior yet. I was planning to do the interior this coming weekend, but now that I've been fortunate enough to injure myself, I wont be doing it. Anyway, it's not 100% perfect, but it's nicer than just about any daily driven black car that I've ever seen on the road.

Wash with NXT

No need for clay

2 passes with SSR2.5 on a Polishing pad, speed 6

AIO on polishing pad

EX on finishing pad

Souveran by hand

Adam's In&Out spray on the running boards

AA in the wells

VRT on the tires

On the roof I used Pro Polish and Z1, Z2

I'll probably put a coat of EX-P on the metallic gray when I get off these damn crutches.

Damn Wade, that thing looks great!

That paint looks perfect from here, but I know what you mean. When you detail you start to pick out the most minute of details that wouldn't come out.

very nice!!

Wish the pix were larger.

How did you figure that it didn't need claying?

I sized them way down for the 56K'ers. I clayed it not long ago, and that car isnt really out in the elements much at all. Surface was smooth according to my ziplock test. I know Scottwax is on 56K and I thought he might have a pointer or 2 for me. :D

Thanks Sean. Yeah, it's close enough, certain angles when the light hits it, you can tell it's not perfect.

But then again, who's daily driver is perfect :)? Learning to accept defects is hard, but when you drive it every day and deal with non-Autopians in non-Autopian conditions, you just learn to grim and bear it, and remember that your vehicles do look better than any others in the parking lot.
