Black Lexus & Ford F350 Crew...

Clean Dean

Keep it clean !!!
This past week I had a few “projects” including this 04 Lexus GX 470. The paint was in pretty bad shape, but luckily it was Lexus single stage black. I have had considerable success with their ss black and I went after the finish with Hi-Temps Heavy Cut leveler and a yellow Schlegel wool pad (PC-375). I set the rotary to about 2500 rpms.

After cutting I used 3M Ultrafina with an Edge light cut/polishing pad to level out the swirls from the HCL. I am very impressed with this products performance and the finish was ready for a sealant after this step.

Sealed with Meguiars #21.

Nice post with pictures.

I really like the interior shots of the Lexus. I am a sucker for wood grain paneling. It is very distinctive looking.

I agree with Steven that the Ford is massive. It looks raised so even with a good step bench it would seem to be hard to reach all of the roof on that cab.

Very nice work on bothvehicles! What products did you use on the Ford?

Basically the same products but different pads and speed. It took me about 2.0 hours to wash and claybar that beast, then I went after to finish w/ Hi Temps heavy cut & wool at @ 1700-1800 rpms. I finished her out with Auto Magics XP then sealed with Meguiars #20.

Claying out this animal was pretty involved. The truck had considerable tree sap and overspray on its exterior.
