Black, Is swirling unavoidable?

I got like 95% of the swirls out of the paint last week w/ a non filling polish. This week after washing, I noticed a few new tiny swirls pop up. Is this something I am going to have to just live with on a black car.

BTW, two bucket, sheepskin mits, Eagle 1 wash, microfibers

Not unavoidable, but very, very hard to avoid. I would search for Accumulator's posts on his washing routine and use it as an example of the least swirl inducing way to wash...

I don't think its unavoidable either.... having my first black truck for a few months not I will tell you it takes much more time and you have to be more careful it also costs me more to maintain than my white vehicles have but I always want it looking its best. I have invested in some high quality mifrofibers wash mits and so on... and I wax and polish more often to make washing easier and more effortless. Acctually I have removed more swirls and fine scratches that were on the vehcile from the dealer.

Also when washing I use a grit guard and it my truck is real dirty I will also use a second rinse bucket.

lol, here is how it looked off the lot

LouisanaJeeper- YIKES :scared That's pretty serious. Trust me, (OMG do I HATE it when someone says that!! Sorry...) you can do better than that.

Yeah, I've kept a few cars marring free. As in no need to polish for over a year. No micromarring, nothing, no matter the lighting or the magnification.

If you don't find my post(s) on soap solution-through-the mitt, get back and we can rehash it some more (heh heh, sorry, I don't feel like typing it now, did two cars today including the undercarrriages and taking off the snows). It might be worth trying a few "extreme washes" just to see how marring-free you can keep it.

Oh, and get a higher-lubricity shampoo. Even if it costs more, it's worth it to save your paint.

haha, that was without little Timmy with the rotory in the dealer prep area touching it too, just a dealer wash. Not sure what they used to wash/dry? brillo pads mabey?

Man, the dealerships in my area aren't all that bad then. Heh heh, at least not the ones *I* patronize when they're doing cars for me ;)

I've actually let Stoddard Imports do a few of my Audis with NO problems. But then the Mazda dealer marred the MPV just taking the plastic off! Nothing like what YOU have there, though. Brillo pads, heh heh heh.
