What do you all do about this problem?

Is there something i can spray on the hood that will dislove everything in these rock chips?

Or i was thinking of doing each one with a Q-Tip, but with what?

There is only maybe 8-10 chips, but i cant walk past the hood without them catching my eye.

Someday i will get some paint touch up on them...

Jeff,

If you go the Qtip route there are some great detailing tips with finer points available...I think AutoGeek has some. Griot's Garage also sells some touchup toothpicks that work well.

Them toothpicks are awesome. Thats what i use for chip touchups.

so what are you guys talking about, putting touch up paint on a toothpick, and filling in the chip? If so i have some rock chips and theres white spots. I guess i'll have to check out these toothpicks

Placed an order for the toothpics, are they good enough so that wetsnding isnt mandatory?

Quite a few come in the kit, are they throw aways or reusable?

I hv never filled a chip that didn't need to be leveled by wet sanding or Langka. Even if the blob is minimized by careful filling, it is still a blob. I find wet sanding and polishing easier than langka.

The best thing that I have found for sanding touched up chips is the 3M spot sanding pen. It has very small tightly packed fibers (looks like fine fiber glass) that do the actual sanding and you can extend them as needed. It is perfect for small fine sanding jobs. I found mine at Wal Mart with the body work products.

is there a how to around here for wetsanding these small rock chips. I have never done this, but the paint on my truck is flawless other than a few little rock chips. Esp interested in the 3M spotsanding pen
