Black Harley engine's?

I just did a clean and polish on a Road King with the part of the engine blacked out. On the right side there are white spots on some of the black paint. I'm thinking its minerals from water drying on the engine. Am I right? If so what can I use to remove this. I didn't want to use any of my cleaners because I was worried about removing the paint. Is I ended up leaving them and the owner was fine with that. But what can I use on it next time?

If you are refering to the black paint between the fins of the engine and it is factory applied, then the paint it pretty tough. You can use a tooth brush to scrub off.

S-100 makes a product called engine brite that is made for this paint and it works very well to brighten up the engine (it keeps the black from looking dull).
