Well, Mustang GT. :nana:



Haha, anyways, what a beast. I spent over 14 hours on this car, and it still wasn't enough to get it to my standards. Still some random scratches, swirls ect. but the owner is selling the vehicle, and he wasn't willing to pay +$200 for a detail.



Exterior was the worst I've seen. Paint was very hard to work with. Spent at least 10 horus on the exterior.



Whole exterior was done by rotary. I wanted to see if I could do it.



So, process:



Clay

Hyper Compound via cutting pad and 1700 RPM twice

Hyper Compound via polishing pad and 1500 RPM

Optimum Polish via polishing pad and 1500 RPM

SSR 1 via rotary and finishing pad at 1000 RPM

Collonite by hand x2



Rims:



New Car Solvent

Megs Cleaner Wax



Tires:



APC

Dress it Right



Engine Bay:



APC sitting over night

Anouther application of APC via scrub brush

Super Dress It



Interior:



Dry brush carpets and seats

Extract carpets

Nice work. I can't believe he wasn't willing to pay - you just increased the value by $2k.



I have a customer with the same car and color (with the best looking rims I've seen) that I had to fix after the body shop tore it up...I even had to resand places that they screwed up painting. I love this car. One of these days I'll get some good pics up (he's also a photographer and took the pics for me).



Great job...and what an effort.
 
The paint work looks awesome after your magic touch :xyxthumbs . The engine compartment looks horrible before you clean it up and it is really an amazing job how you make it looks like new :2thumbs:
 
Wow, you completely restored that paint. Definitely increased its value by a whole lot. Looks just like my GT. What did you use on the doorjams? Also, did you cover anything electrical on the engine?

What's your experience with Meg's CW on rims? I tried using it on some aftermarket paint rims and had a hard time buffing it out.

Door jam got some APC and Meg's Cleaner wax. Didn't cover anything. I spray on degreaser, just staying away from the alternator. Then when I rinse, I Just use the mist setting on my nossle, and stay away from anything electrical.



Detailmycar- It works good. Just go on lite and you're fine.

I charged $150, recieved $160. I offered a higher end package for around $220-240, but he didn't want it.

You need to move to San Diego, I typically get about 4 hundy for a restoration jobber. In fact, I got one tomorrow (Black Z3) that I'll have to post some pics of. Then again, it cost a heck of a lot to live here.

even in ottawa no shop would do THAT quality of work for that cheap!



you EASILY increased the value of his car by several thousand, it can now be advertised as being in "LIKE-NEW condition" instead of "good shape"
 
Wow you did an awesome job and for $150 for interior AND exterior that is a huge deal you gave him. Great work the stang looks great....

I used Collonite Insulator Wax. Speaking of which, I need to talk to EdLancer about getting some more! :)

I will chime in with the others... In most cities that would be $500-750 - don't let your age distract you from your talent! Most stealerships would easily charge $1000 for that much work..
 
$150 :bat :banned: !!!!!!!! That guy got one hell of a deal...your practically cheap labor! Move to california :bat
