Here are some pictures to begin with...I'm not sure how far I'll get on the outside, but I'm just about done with the inside...I'll be back with pictures later.

These are before shots.

LoL! I'm here, you can release your breath. I think I'll only post this one interior shot...a lot cleaner...Just vaccum, dust dash, wipe down rest with damp MF, Armor All Low Gloss on all plastic. Plexus on instrument cluster and shifter position indicator. I never did get around to cleaning the inside of the windows, I'm ashamed to say...I hate windows...this is my aunt's car so I'll do it next time I'm over there...

I hope the pict isn't to big.

edit..hmm, carpet doesn't look too clean. My bad, looks a lot better than with the chunks lying around. My aunt will be happy. I was going to hose down the mats, but they weren't too bad, so I left them. I figured I'd do it next time.

crisp reflections.

I know it wasn't the ideal place for a picture shoot, but I didn't have time for great pictures...I had to get the car back to her.

Ok, I covered the interior up a ways. Here is what I did on the exterior

Washed, used Meguiars Scratch X on a few of the more noticable scratches and heavily swirled areas. This cleaned up a lot of the problem areas. I noticed that the areas around where I was working were pretty much swirl free...that is nice to see. I've never really attempted swirl removal like that. The PC was set on 5.5 most of the time. After I got that done, I grabbed the Turtle Wax Finish 2001. I'm guessing it is the longest lasting thing I have around right now. Soon, I hope to get some Hi-Temp Terminator II which I hope is better. Good news is that it has no cleaners in it, so it is good for the OCD detailer. I let the Finish 2001 sit for a while, then wiped it off with a MF. Err, I should say I tried to. I gave up, and used a mosit MF which made it easier. Part of the problem may have been that I misted the pad with QD to extend the wax and make it go on smoother, but even on the areas I didn't, it was hard to buff. The paint was still kinda streaky after I got done with that, so I thought I'd kill 3 birds with 1 stone [what a feat!] by applying S100 1. removing streaking 2. longer lasting protection - second layer 3. more shine! The S100 went on and off really easily and left a great shine.

I didn't dress the tires because it was a really windy day...the protectant would have gone all over the car. I have a new idea brewing to brush on some Black Magic Tire Wet which comes in a spray bottle.

Oh, for the bugs, I sprayed Black Magic detailing spray, let it sit for a min, then wiped off. It worked OK for removing the bugs. I used it on the paint and the plastic front bumper. I wasn't sure how to treat the bumper, so I didn't do anything but clean it. I didn't want something streaky, too shiny, or dust attractive. Maybe Klasse AIO would have been good if I had it...but I'm guessing some would get stuck in the little grooves of the plastic.

I didn't get paid yet, but the payment isn't really important to me. I enjoyed working on the car, and as long as I get enough to make it worth my time. I had a fun day, probably more fun than a day at work. I usually leave the decision of the amount up to whoever I'm working for.

I think I'd be happy with $20 even though it took most of the day.

Happy detailing!

Yep, she was really happy, especially that she didn't have to wash and wax her car herself.

I've never used an extractor...I'm gonna read up on how they work. Probably too expensive for a hobbiest, though. Maybe I need to go pro. ;)
