Black & Decker Blower

Intercooled

I've seen this a couple times at Home Depot. It's kinda cheesy but I though maybe it would be perfect for blowing off the wheels and my front grill ( which is flat black and real pain to dry and shows water spots bad!) It would also come in handy for blowing off the deck or garage floor. I was able to run it and it seemed ok. Not very powerful but probably just enough to remove dust and water. ($50) The cordless ability is what really attracts me. Just grab it and walk around the car, no cords to screw with!

Anyone have one? or know if its any good.

WOW..not bad. I like that it is cordless. I love using a leaf blower on my car to dry but hate having to undo the electrical cord etc.

I might have to check this out at the Black and Decker outlet near me. It says it has up to 120 MPH which is pretty good for a cordless.

Be sure to buy it from someplace that will take it back no-questions-asked if you’re not completely satisfied.

The reason you don’t see cordless rotaries, compressors or vacuums (that are worth a damn) is that these functions take a lot of power.

Look at the Metro blowers; they take up a whole 15 Amp circuit at 120VAC.

My guess is that a cordless blower will be too wimpy to be of any practical value.

I was thinking the same. But I figure when useing the blower to rid the wheels and grill of water or quickly cleaning off the deck, I probably wouldn't even get 3-4 minutes of continiouse usage. power would peobably be ok......I wouldn't use it on my lawn or for leaf blowing that would be a joke with this machine!! Home Depot is great about returns.

I have been using my B & D cordless blower for about a year now and I am very impressed. It has more than enough power and 1 battery will run for about 8 minutes;long enough to dry my utility (US : pick up ? ) including "pushing" the water put out of the tray.

I find it particularly good at drying hard to get at areas such the grill, behind the mirrors,

badges and especially wheels. I leave some water on the main panels as I like to WAUD

and towel off but I completely dry my mag wheels before applying Poorboys S & G to them.

I am so impressed that I am thinking of trying Black & Decker's 18v cordless sander/polisher;it uses the same batteries. If that's a goer on the ute I will no longer think of cordless tools as ashtrays on motorbikes !

Do you have the 18V or the 12V ?

It is the 18 volt model.

Aside from drying vehicles I use it to blow out my garage and remove leaves from my

garden.
