Black Car, Swirl Marks & Porter-Cable 7336/7224 Dual Action Polisher

I have a black clear coat finish on my car, and am starting to see swirl marks. I was recommended the Porter-Cable Polisher and pads, and Poorboys products to remove them. Anyone have good/bad input on this method? I have never used a polisher before, and have heard that inexperience can do more damage than good. So rather than pay some detailer a couple hundred dollars to do it, I figured I can get my own equipment, and take care of it myself. Anyway, any tips on these products and thier usability would be greatly appreciated. All of you black car owners out there know how hard it is to keep it clean, but when black is clean, black is hot! :) Thanks in advance...

Its hard to do alot of damage with a PC. Try the search function of the forum and you will find countless threads to help you. A PC with Poorboys product is a exellent choice to battle those swirls.

A pc is almost fool proof. I would start with a mild abrasive such as SSR 1 and put the pc on 6 using the cutting pad (most are orange) I love the pc, it should get all the swirls out. Good luck with it
