Black BMW X3 + Story Time

Well this X3 belongs to a family that I've detailed 5 of their cars already and wanted me to do their daughters X3 that gets trashed at college.



Story: They tell me to come over on Monday morning and pick it up and she'll leave the keys in the X3. She won't be able to give me the keys personally because she'll sleeping because of the party she's having the night before. Alright...So I walk over and pick the X3 up and of course the keys are right on the front seat with all the windows open. I take it home and I'm halfway through detailing when her uncle (also a neighbor) pulls up laughing hysterically. He quickly gets off his cell phone and asks me if I've been stealing cars this morning. I'm puzzled..and he keeps laughing and tells me his niece called the police and reported the car stolen. Guess she was a little hungover...

What was your process and products? I'm very interested because my mom has an 06' X3 in black that I detail quite often. The paint is awful, possibly the softest ever, so wash induced marring is a huge issue, yet it is not as easy to correct as you might think. Tons of orange peel as well. From the pics, I think it looks pretty good!

So I guess there are two meanings for your "gets trashed at college" both the daughter and the X3 :spot At least one of them cleans up nicely.... :chuckle: Great job! It looks great!

Great detail too, I'd like to hear the process you used, as I've got a black BMW coming up soon and I couldn't get it quite right last time I did it.

I was somewhat expecting the police to be knocking on my door. Poor girl was so embarrassed she wouldn't come out and look at her car. Her uncle thought it was pretty hilarious though.
