Black Acura TL

Where to start. ... I had detailing this car when the owner basically first purchased it, and that was looong time ago. Well, he had gotten back in touch b/c his wife took a snow brush to it during one of our ice/snow storms. So going in to this, I knew it probably wouldnt be pretty. This car seems to hide its defects very well, b/c I wasnt really expecting it to be this tough. Heres the lowdown:

Work time: 8 hours

Full interior and Full exterior (per customer: "do your best", lol)

ONR wash

Clay

ssr2.5 (hood received ohc on purple wool @ 1500 first, then moved to 2x 2.5 on org)

ssr1

CMW

clearkote metal polish on exhaust

ots on tires

Interior:

303 Aerospace

Leatherique PC

Pics pics pics

And I realize the hood could've probably used another pass or two, but after doing 4 or 5 already, I felt as though I had it to the point where it was very good and I could do any finishing or additional correcting when I see it again in April)

For starters:

And here are some hood shots. This was by far the worst section of the car. The rest was just average defects, but this hood... ugh... it was just trashed.

Clay after 1/2 of the hood

Probably could've taken some better afters... but screw it. I was/am exhausted and just wanted to clean up and go home.

And... for having such a relatively clean interior, I did have to give him the "weirdest item found while detailing award" for the year so far. Luckily they were probably only 2 weeks old.. that could've gotten ugly. ... i was tempted to eat them towards the end of the night, lol.

Looks great! I've had some pretty weird things too, like dried boogers all over the back of the front seats from their kids in the back...that was just gross.

I think I saw poo of some sort on the back floor of a van once. I didn't check closely, as the rest of the van's condition suggested it was very possible. When I turned the owner down, I almost giggled, I found it foolishly funny that she would think I was going to touch that mess :)

That hood was really beat up! What are those 2 parallel stains in the 2nd pic? I hope they noticed the great turnaround you pulled off!

I'm not really sure what they were. They took some 2.5 to get out though, so it had to have been something slightly acidic.

Great job.... all the TL's around here are dirty, dinged, and scratched up..

Which is terrible cause TLs are extremely sexy cars! I get weak in the knees whenever I see one...well except for the gold ones...

The car came out excellent. Be proud of it. These type of owners should look at the car now and think it is perfect. They obviously don't care THAT MUCH.

Great work!!!

Thanks! I know.. I'm happy w/ how it turned out, but when the rest of the car came out so well, it was a little disappointing leaving the hood w/ those remaining problems. But I agree, 99% of hte people out there will never know... just us nut cases here :chuckle:
