This is a buddys car, so I did it for free. Limited time so I had to work with what i had. I did not do the wheels, tires or fender wells, the owner cleaned them while i was washing. The correction was def. not perfect at all. 70% at best, but I got all the oxidation off, so that's what matters. The paint was very neglected and it sits outside 24/7, around chemical plants.
Decontamination:
2bm Meg's nxt (heavy soap to cut grime)
meg's white - cm blue
power clean at various places
Correction:
Powergloss where needed 5.5" low profile orange
SIP 2x 5.5" lp orange
85rd 5.5" white
LSP:
collinite 476s via 6.5" blue pad
Tires:
meg's hot shine spray
Tools:
porter cable 7424
craftsman 1000 watt dual halogens
canon power shot sd850is
This was about a 10 hour day. I really wish i had more time. I honestly thought it was going to take less time. If I knew i had 10 hours only, I would have done sip then 85rd. I spend probably 2 hours trying to find the right pad/polish combo. it's been about 3 weeks and i still haven't seen the car in the light. I'm really dreading what im going to see, because i know there's still swirls everywhere
Before:
you can see the oxidation
bird bomb - there was lots of deep bird crap etching
no lsp at all
caked on dirt
heres the clay after like 1/8 roof
went through more than 1 bar
we removed the rear spoiler to find this
and this
50/50s:
1x powergloss
1x sip
1x sip
same shot WITH flash :wavey oxidation
5050 hood
more 5050 on the hood
